There are people in this world who hate ramen. These people are called idiots. Seriously though, who doesn’t like a nice steaming hot bowl of ramen? It’s amazing how quickly this Japanese dish of hot broth, al dente noodles, and varied toppings has become a staple of good eating. And thus, ramen is a perfect crowd pleasing subject for one of our Triblend T-shirts.

This design has a top down view of the food, just like when you first get a bowl of noodles and put your face in the path of the steam to catch the meaty aromas offered forth. Also, according to Instagram, food from the top view looks better. It’s a bowl of Tonkotsu ramen, aka a creamy pork broth. That’s a broth made from long hours of simmering pork bones, meat, and gelatinous bits until you get an unctuous, velvety soup that dances with deep porkiness. You’ll notice several traditional toppings in this digital composition: the slices of buttery-fatty pork chashu, yolky soft-boiled eggs, dried seaweed half-covered by the broth, sliced green onions, bamboo shoots, enoki mushrooms, fresh greens, the swirly slices of naruto fish cakes, a sprinkle of spicy togarashi atop, and the ramen noodles themselves. The food is served in a familiarly Asian patterned bowl with red chopsticks atop adding a visually interesting splash of color that also delineates the more interesting ingredients. The style of the piece is mildly painterly with some visible brushstrokes gradations to clue you into the technical work, a little rougher than something aiming for realism, yet still capturing a realistic rendering of the subject. Browns factor strongly in the scheme, reflecting the meatiness of the subject, with greens to freshen and reds/magentas creating bold areas.

How to Care for Your Sweet Shirt

Machine wash cold inside out to protect the print, no bleach. Pretreatment may remain on your made-to-order shirt which will add a harder, rougher texture (it's to help the print look good), the first wash will remove it and make everything nice and soft. Tumble dry low. Iron low, but avoid print.
