This time we’re gonna get funky so everybody clap your hands! No, we’re not doing the cha cha slide, we’re making taking a portrait of a lion and laying on the full funky-town colors in this tribute to the colors of the African sunset. Our love for big cats like the beastly social creatures known as Panthera leo aka lions got us itching to recolor some art in this collaborative funky fresh, apex soft Triblend T-shirt.

Here’s a portrait of a lion in thought, with just one side of it’s scraggly, fur covered face visible to the viewer. It’s got a bit of a mohawk going on, suggesting a bit of youth in this feline. His expression is inscrutable, almost statuesque and alien as you try to figure out what this animal is thinking about. Perhaps some prey in the distance? A past hunt? The upcoming disco battle down at the watering hole? The pen runs heavy in this ink drawing, with a picture filled with details in a composition that eschews loose expressionism for a more literal, realistic impression of the subject. Groups of hatching lines simulate patches of fur, with thicker, longer contoured curves forming the longer hair of the mane. There’s a lot of line work here that contributes to the rich texture of the fur. The hatching becomes thick around the ears, emphasizing a more heavily shadowed area. The original eye artwork is substituted with our Destroy the Comics icon as a nod to our brand. The original black and white is also recolored to a brilliant gradient evocative of the the setting sun’s light over the savanna. Deep oranges, bloody violets, and straw golds paint the work with emotion.

Our shirts have a slimmish, tapered fit that isn't too tight or too loose. Slim fit varies a lot between brands, but we'd consider this in the slim family, with enough roominess to be comfortable. Some call this fashion slim fit or semi-fitted.

How to Care for Your Sweet Shirt

Machine wash cold inside out to protect the print, no bleach. Pretreatment may remain on your made-to-order shirt which will add a harder, rougher texture (it's to help the print look good), the first wash will remove it and make everything nice and soft. Tumble dry low. Iron low, but avoid print.
