You Got Served in Mario Tennis Aces There was a point where I was ready to give up playing Mario Tennis Aces. One strike was being bored to death with a text heavy tutorial. Then I was brought to frustration because of the mediocre story mode filled with tedious challenges. I even lost 7 straight […]
Games
Ah games, the most fun art medium around. We got you covered with our detailed reviews and articles on indie games, big budget AAA titles, and more.
Games don’t get the respect they deserve–there’s art, there’s storytelling, and there’s interactivity. Try making a painting or a book as interactive as a game (spoiler alert: you can’t). Interactivity and the opportunity for emergent meaning-making are true differentiators when it comes the games as a medium. You aren’t just passively consuming the media, you’re actually creating the experience actively as an integral part.
Without the player, there is no game. What is the sound of a game that is never played?

Bringing Out the Arms… So Nintendo’s newest franchise, Arms just released. I’ve maybe put a solid 9 hours or play or so. That being said, I’ve played pretty much all it has to offer. Yes, it plays like an arcade fighter. You fight ten characters in succession and you beat all of them and fight […]
