If you don’t know, I happen to live in San Jose where we have a new comic convention (only in it’s third year) taking place downtown this weekend (Friday, April 6 -Sunday, April 8). Silicon Valley Comic Con is an upstart convention, unaffiliated with any of the other big names like SDCC or NYCC, that […]
Comic Con Guides
Heading to San Diego Comic Con? How about New York Comic Con? Lucky for you, we’ve been there and done that so we’ve got all the more unique insider tips and tricks in our comic con guides.
These aren’t going to be like the lame grandma guides you see on other sites telling you common sense things like “Check the event schedule to find out when your favorite panels are showing!” No, I was going to just walk into every room in the convention center until I found the panel I was looking for–no shit sherlock!
Which Comic Con is the Best?
If you ask this question to different people, you’ll get different answers all around. The best one is the one you personally have the most fun it. For some people it’s the take-over-the-city San Diego Comic Con. For others it’s the cool metropolitan New York Comic Con. Others may like smaller, more intimate local conventions.
There’s a few comic conventions in particular that we visit:
- San Diego Comic Con – The yardstick by which all other Conventions are measured.
- New York Comic Con – The younger, east coast based media extravaganza that’s grown to the size of SDCC
- Silicon Valley Comic Con – Local to a lot of our SF Bay Area writing team, it’s easy for us to visit this startup of a convention.

As a Marvel Legends toy collector, I’m excited for the direction Hasbro has taken with their San Diego Comic-Con exclusives this year.
